The Hope Benefit is organized by the Friends of St. Joseph Villa for the purpose of supporting the Charity Care Fund. This fund provides financial support for those who cannot afford the total cost of their care and/or services at the Villa. During Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2009 CHRISTUS St. Joseph Villa, through the Charity Care Fund, provided more than $998,000 in financial assistance to residents who were unable to pay the total cost of their care or needed support to purchase such items as clothing, medication, eye glasses and other necessities. The total amount given each year has steadily increased and projections indicate that this trend will continue in the coming years.  In conjunction with the event, the Friends of St. Joseph Villa present the Continuum of Care Award.  Previous recipients iclude Mrs. Norma Matheson, The Most Reverend Joseph L. Federal, Jon and Karen HUntsman, President and Mrs. Thomas S. Monson, Senator and Mrs. Orrin Hatch, the Thomas K. and Jane F. McCarthey Family, Pamela Atkinson, the S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney Family and Foundation, Nancy and Clark Giles, The Most Reverend George Niederauer, Irene Sweeney, Pastor France Davis, The Congregation of Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and the Jack and Grace Mary Gallivan Family.
